From Rural Louisiana to Vietnam.

US Marine Colonel Roy Edwards, retired, shares memories of his growing-up years in rural Louisiana in the 1940s and, eventually, achieving his desire to become a jet fighter pilot. He flew nearly 300 combat missions in Vietnam as a Marine fighter pilot and served his country for 28 years before his retirement.

But this book is not about war though he served multiple combat tours. You won’t find battle details, but you will find mentions of harrowing experiences. This is a book about a life lived, of everyday life in training, time “in country,” and in command—a glimpse of a real life during these memorable times in our country’s history
